This article is designed to help both in-house and multi club leagues. The steps below are for both the league itself, and the clubs that are playing in that league.
Step 1 Gain Access to your account. If the league tab within your account is white you either need to contact an organization admin who can give you access to the league, or if this is a new league you can e-mail Sales@GotSoccer.com to get information on starting a league in GotSoccer.
Step 2 Create the league:
To create the league you click on the green league tab, click "New League Event Schedule" then fill in the name, dates, and general location (There is more information on the page but that is all you need to get started.
Step 3 Attach the clubs that are a part of your league, to the new event: (NOTE: IF you have used GotSoccer for your league in the past, you can copy clubs from one season to another, also if this is a league with only your club you can skip this step). To attach a club to your league the club administrator should go to www.GotSoccer.com, login to their account, and use this help article: NEED TO HAVE THIS ARTICLE ADDED). If this league is brand and the clubs have not used GotSoccer before, your account manager may need to do this step for you.
Step 4 How to submit teams from your club, to the league:
(Important: If you are submitting a team for next fall season, PRIOR to August 1st, you will want to submit them as their current spring age, and GotSoccer will automatically move them up an age for the league. The league start date should be 8/1/YY or later in order for this to happen).
A.) Teams that already exist in your GotSoccer Account: To do this you go to Club-->Teams-->And select the event from the "Register teams in" drop down list, then hit "SELECT." (NOTE: Most people forget to hit select after choosing the event). Once you hit select, check the teams you want to submit, and then click the "Enter Selected Teams" button. You may add coaches/managers to the teams before or after you submit them to the league. You may also change the team name if needed, but do not age the team up.
Your league may also want you to select your division, here is a screenshot showing how to do that if they require this:
B.) Teams that do not already exist in your club account: These will need to be created for the first time. Here is a help article on how to add a team for the first time: (Remember, create them under their spring age group if you are submitting them for next fall). https://gotsoccer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002968028-How-Do-I-Add-a-New-Team-to-My-Club
Step 5 Updating Club Fields: You will want to make sure your club fields are up to date with the correct address, ages, partitioning (If you have an 11v11 field that breaks down to smaller fields). To do this go to Club-->Facilities. You can then click on any field to edit it, or click "Add Facility" to add a new field. When you click onto a field make sure the "Availability" tab is set for the correct ages and times. We do not recommend putting in the dates as you will have to change that often, however, if wanted you can use the dates. Here is a help article on how to add fields to your club: https://gotsoccer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013805768-Setting-Up-Fields-
As a club you have completed all immediate tasks of submitting teams to the league, and updating your fields. Your last step will likely to to schedule the home games in GotSoccer (IF your league allows for that). Here is a help article on how to schedule home games for your club: HELP ARTICLE NEEDED HERE
Step 6 Create Divisions: To create your divisions go to "Divisions" in the grey menu bar, then hit "Add Division." You will then enter the name (Gold/Blue/East etc), Priority (The system does not know the difference between Gold and Blue so you enter the priority for "1" as you top group, "2" as your next one and so on, then you select the age/gender. Lastly put in the total game length (first half + half time + second half + any time you have between games such as 10 minutes), start time, and end time. NOTE: Once you save one division you can copy it and just change the settings for the next age.
Step 7 League Accepts Teams: To accept your teams go to "Teams" in the black menu bar, then hit the "Accept Listed Teams" button which will accept all teams on that page. You can make your page size larger if needed, and you can accept teams one by one if needed too.
Step 8 League seeds the teams into the divisions: Here is a help article on how to seed your teams: Here is a help article on how to seed your teams: https://gotsoccer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005605488-Seeding-teams-into-divisions
Step 9 Activate the dates of play: Go to Schedule-->Calendar view and hit the "+" button on any day to make it activate for all age groups. You can then hit the "+" sign for divisions to only select certain divisions (Such as boys one day girls another).
Step 10: Create matches: To create matches you go to Divisions-->Match Creation. The system defaults to everyone playing each other one time IF there are enough play dates activated.
For example, if you have a group of 10 teams, and only have 8 dates added to the calendar, the system will only create 8 games for everyone.
If you have a group of 6 teams, and only have 8 dates available, the system will create 5 games as the first "Set." You can then create a second set, where the system will only generate 3 more games for every team. You can also swap home/away for that second set by clicking "Exchange Sides."
If you have a more complicated schedule, or this is your first time scheduling with GotSoccer we recommend you schedule an appointment with a GotSoccer rep.
Step 11 Schedule Matches: This is sometimes done by the league, by the home club, or even by the home team. This will depend on your leagues rules.
If individual teams are scheduling games, here is a help video to show that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xvj05UUhP6g
If individual clubs are scheduling games, here is a help article on that: ADD LINK
If the league is scheduling their own games, go to "Schedule" Click on the word "Chart" for any day you want to start with, and then you can drag and drop the games onto the fields/times you want (NOTE: Mozilla FireFox does not support drag and drop). You can also click on a game to manually select the field/time.
